Youth Short Film Workshop is a three-day after-school program designed to engage newcomer youth in storytelling, creativity, and collaboration. Through this hands-on workshop, participants will learn the basics of writing, directing, and filming their own short Christmas-themed story. Over the course of three sessions, students will explore how to turn their ideas into a script, learn simple filmmaking techniques, and work together to film their project — taking on roles such as director, actor, and crew member. The goal is to empower youth to express their voices and experiences through film while building communication skills, confidence, and teamwork. The completed short film will reflect the unique perspectives of newcomer youth and their experiences of the holiday season. Lift, push and pull up 50 lbs. • Having a high school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent is required. This program aims to help youth express themselves creatively, build confidence and teamwork skills, and gain practical experience in digital content creation.
